The Approved Contractor Scheme audit was carried out between 31st July and 2nd August, with Guardforce Security Services Ltd scoring 116 marks – out of a possible 145 – which places them in the Top 10 percent of security guarding companies in the UK.
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is an independent organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry. One of the SIA’s main duties is to manage the voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), which measures private security suppliers against independently assessed criteria. During the most recent assessment, from 1st April 2019 until 30th June 2019, approved contractors were assessed against 78 indicators of achievement.

Approved Contractor Scheme objectives and standards
The objective of the SIA’s Approved Contractor scheme is to raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities. The scheme is voluntary and was developed in consultation with representatives from across the industry. It encourages approved contractors to compare their performance with that of other businesses within, and outside of the private security industry.
The SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme introduced a set of operational and performance standards for suppliers of private security services. The organisations that meet these standards are awarded Approved Contractor status. This accreditation provides purchasers of private security services with independent proof of a contractor’s commitment to quality.
