Our UK office celebrated 30 years of trading in December 2023, while our Guardforce Dubai office celebrated 17 years of trading, both a testament to our enduring commitment to excellence and innovation.

I am particularly proud of our teams from MKM Global Group who are working tirelessly to market our commercial cleaning service. Their dedication and innovative strategies are making significant strides in expanding our reach and impact in this sector.

Moreover, I am equally proud of our exceptional team at Marina Lux Real Estate. They demonstrate unwavering commitment and expertise in guiding people to find their ideal homes. Their personalized approach and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set us apart in the real estate market.

Under my leadership as Group Chief Executive Officer, we have fostered a culture of excellence and collaboration that drives our success.

Additionally, I am delighted to announce that Mahadev Bhattari has been promoted to the position of Head of Operations for our Dubai office. Mahadev has demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill in his role, taking over responsibilities just last month. His leadership qualities and commitment to excellence make him the ideal candidate for this important position, and we are confident in his ability to lead our operations in Dubai to new heights. Dear Team,

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! After years of dedication and hard work, I am honored to announce that I have been promoted to the position of Group Managing Director for Guardforce Global, overseeing Guardforce Security Services and MKM Global Commercial Cleaning & Hospitality in the UAE region.
My journey with Guardforce began over a decade ago when I started as a security guard in the UK. Through perseverance and commitment, I climbed the ranks, taking on roles such as Mobile Supervisor, Operations Assistant, and eventually Operations Manager. These experiences not only taught me the ins and outs of the industry but also instilled in me the importance of quality management and compliance, ensuring that our company met the highest standards, including SIA, Safe Contractor Plus, and ISO 9001 compliance. I am proud to say that during my time in the UK office, we achieved a top 5% audit score among security companies in the United Kingdom.

In 2019, I embraced a new challenge by transferring to the UAE as an Executive Manager. Over the years, I progressed to the role of Executive Director and spearheaded the launch and establishment of MKM Global Commercial Cleaning & Hospitality. Within just one year, MKM Global expanded its services to cover major Emirates in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, and Fujairah.

Now, as Group Managing Director, I am eager to lead Guardforce Global to new heights of success. I am confident that with our dedicated team and unwavering commitment to excellence, we will continue to innovate, grow, and exceed expectations in the security and soft services sectors.

I, Mahadev Bhattarai, commenced my tenure at Guardforce as an Operation Supervisor, diligently proving my capabilities within the company. Through constant dedication and performance excellence, I attained my first initial promotion to the role of Chief Inspector. Continuously demonstrating my commitment and competence to our management, I have recently been honored with my second promotion to the esteemed position of Head of Operations.

As the Head of Operations at Guardforce, my primary responsibilities Includes communicate with clients to enhance our customer service standards and ensuring seamless operations across Guardforce Securities and MKM Cleaning Services. I oversee all corrective actions pertaining to operational matters in both departments, holding full accountability for their efficiency. From the initiation of new site notifications to the smooth running of site operations, I am committed to eliminating any operational failures. As we reflect on our journey, it’s evident that our collective efforts have propelled Guardforce Security Services to new heights of success. From the moment I joined, I witnessed the remarkable growth of our company, and I’m thrilled to share our progress with you.

Introduction of ACT (Actions Counter Terrorism ) to our team in the UAE

I am thrilled to share our recent achievement: successfully introducing the ACT (Actions Counter Terrorism) courses to our UAE team. After ensuring that all our UK staff—both frontline and office-based—completed the relevant ACT courses, we extended this initiative to our colleagues in the UAE. The response from our UAE team has been overwhelmingly positive, and they have fully embraced this objective.

ProtectUK provides business and the public with counter terrorism support and guidance to effectively protect and prepare.

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) launches Action Counters Terrorism Security e-learning for security professionals. ACT Security e-learning is specialized counter-terrorism awareness training that provides up-to-date knowledge to help Security operatives prepare and respond to terrorist.

Actions Counters Terrorism (ACT) for Education e-learning is bespoke training aimed all staffs educating all how to identify security vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity and how to respond when there is an incident. This course has been developed by the Department for Education in collaboration with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office using core principles such as Run, Hide, Tell, the HOT Protocol and the Power of Hello.

Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Security e-Learning is specialised training for front line security operatives. This course was designed by government counter-terrorism experts from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office and National Protective Security Authority. The custom-built training provide up-to date counter- terrorism knowledge to help operatives prevent, prepare for and respond to terrorist incidents terrorist attacks whilst on duty.

Actions Counters Terrorism (ACT) ACT Awareness eLearning will provide nationally recognised corporate counter terrorism guidance to help people better understand, and mitigate against, current terrorist methodology.

Here’s how we accomplished this:

OFFICE STAFF TRAINING:

In the initial phase, we ensured that all our office staff completed the three ACT courses – Education, E-Learning and Awareness. This comprehensive training equipped our staff with the necessary knowledge and skills. As individual certificates started arriving, our staff felt a sense of accomplishment. The experience was truly exhilarating and the excitement of staff can be seen in the above photo.

OPERATIONS TEAM INVOLVEMENT:

Next, we organized training sessions for our operations team, including supervisors. They logged in and completed their targets. These courses sparked discussions among staff members, allowing them to explore deeper into various ACT areas. These conversations further solidified their understanding.

FRONT-LINE TEAM INTRODUCTION:

Taking our efforts to the field, we introduced ACT to our front-line team, including team leaders. Our target is to complete training for all front-line staff by the end of the month.
Our clients highly appreciated our commitment to training. Notably, we are the first UK-owned company in the UAE to implement ACT training.
By enhancing our team’s knowledge, we aim to provide an even more vigilant and efficient service to our clients.

Our last event on the shores of Umm Al Quwain witnessed a unique coming together of Guardforce Global Group’s diverse companies including all members from Guardforce Security Services, MKM Global Commercial Cleaning & Hospitality, and Marina Lux Real Estate gathered for a day filled with laughter, challenges, and team-building excellence. The day commenced with a series of dynamic team-building activities designed to push boundaries and encourage collaboration. From trust falls to problem-solving challenges, every participant had the chance to step out of their comfort zones, paving the way for personal and professional growth.

One of the standout features of the day was a spirited volleyball tournament. Colleagues from different companies joined forces, showcasing not only their athletic prowess but also the unity that defines Guardforce Global Group. A day of spirited competition and team challenges, our teams took charge of the BBQ station, presenting a homemade culinary masterpiece – Katwa Gosht. We celebrated the day showcasing the vibrant spirit that defines Guardforce Global Group. It was evident that Guardforce Global Group had not only created lasting memories but had also solidified the foundation for enhanced collaboration and success across all our companies. Moreover a celebration we shared commitment to excellence, teamwork, and mutual support.

A decade of experience in the Finance Department

I began my journey with this company on April 1, 2014, assuming the role of a finance administrator. Initially, I worked in an office located in Carpender’s Park for the first few months. Later that year, we relocated to our current office on the Shakespeare Estate in Watford.

Over the past decade, my tenure at Guardforce has been immensely enjoyable. The initial months posed some challenges, particularly when it came to promptly processing invoices during the first week of each month. Fortunately, I had a patient mentor in Lina, an existing staff member, who guided me through the process. My familiarity with Sage, the accounting software we use, proved advantageous.

Nowadays, work follows a predictable daily and monthly routine. However, the dynamic nature of our tasks prevents monotony—especially when dealing with financial figures all day long! The UK office maintains excellent relations with the Control room, which provides me with daily and monthly reports. These reports, along with our FMS software, help me prepare and issue monthly schedules and invoices.

As we eagerly await the arrival of summer in the UK, the persistent rainfall and cold weather have been somewhat disappointing. Nevertheless, we remain hopeful for warmer, sunnier days ahead. On a personal note, I continue to feed the wild foxes in our garden; currently, there are four regular visitors.

Welcoming Ms. Cara Chan to Our Admin Team

We are thrilled to introduce Ms. Cara Chan, who has joined our UK Admin team as part of a Business Administration apprenticeship scheme. Cara brings a wealth of experience from a variety of fields, including administration and the travel industry, with a focus on marketing, sales, and customer service. Despite her short tenure, Cara has already made valuable contributions.

Cara shares her excitement: “I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of Guardforce UK team. My Business Administration Apprenticeship here provides an excellent foundation for my career in the business and security industry within this multinational company. Having lived in the UK for four years, I aim to combine my prior experience from Hong Kong with the UK’s education and work environment to achieve both personal and organizational goals. I am eager to learn, adapt to the local culture, and contribute to our collective success.”

Joining Guardforce UK as a Security Service Manager in February 2023 has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work with an exceptional team dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our clients. This period has been filled with both challenges and significant achievements that have strengthened our operations and prepared us for future growth.

Operational Challenges

Our work is diverse and demanding. One of the main challenges we’ve encountered is adapting to the varied security needs of our clients. Whether we are providing security for supermarkets, luxury stores, construction sites, or responding to alarms, each environment presents unique demands. Ensuring our officers are trained to handle a wide range of scenarios, from theft prevention in retail settings to managing access control at construction sites, requires continuous effort and improvement. Additionally, maintaining a high level of vigilance and responsiveness in our alarm response teams is critical and necessitates constant training and coordination.

Strategic Achievements

Despite these challenges, we’ve accomplished a lot. A highlight for me has been seeing the positive impact of our enhanced training programs. These programs ensure our personnel are well-prepared for the specific demands of their assignments. Streamlining our operational processes has also been a significant achievement, leading to improved response times and overall service quality. The positive feedback from our clients is incredibly gratifying and a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work.

Future Plans and Growth Targets

As we look to the future, our focus is on expanding our client base and enhancing our service offerings. We aim to increase our presence in high-demand sectors, where we can provide significant value with our expertise. Our growth targets include a 20% increase in our client base by the end of next year, and we are committed to building on our reputation as a reliable security provider.

Personal Milestones

Personally, one of my proudest achievements since joining Guardforce UK has been developing and implementing a comprehensive training program tailored to our clients’ specific needs. This initiative has not only improved the skill sets of our current team but has also positioned us as a preferred employer for top talent in the security industry.
My journey with Guardforce UK so far has been both challenging and immensely fulfilling. The dedication and resilience of our team have been crucial in navigating the complexities of our industry. As we move forward, I am confident that our collective efforts will continue to drive success and growth, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of physical security service providers in the UK. Guardforce Security Services Global recently held a distinguished ceremony to honor the dedication and commitment of its employees. Managing Director Kamran Iqbal and Director of Services Jawed Bukhari led the event, where three promising individuals were awarded the esteemed rank of Operations Inspector: Inspector Elia Lwanga, Inspector Elve Hassan, and Inspector Gursimran Singh.

Despite being relatively new to their roles, Inspectors Lwanga, Hassan, and Singh have quickly demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and expertise. The Operations Inspector rank signifies not only their proficiency but also their deep-seated passion for ensuring the safety and security of clients and communities.

In their short tenures, these inspectors have shown meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and unwavering commitment to Guardforce’s mission. Their leadership has been instrumental in guiding teams towards operational excellence.

Managing Director Kamran Iqbal praised the awardees, noting their significant contributions to the company’s success. “Under the guidance and mentorship of our leadership, Inspectors Elia Lwanga, Elve Hassan, and Gursimran Singh have emerged as shining examples of Guardforce’s commitment to excellence,” Kamran said.

Director of Services Jawed Bukhari emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. “It is through the dedication and expertise of individuals like them that Guardforce Security Services Global continues to set new benchmarks for excellence in the security industry,” Jawed stated.

In his closing remarks, Mick Iqbal, Group Chief Executive Officer of Guardforce Security Services Global, extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Operations Inspectors. “May your achievements inspire us all to continue striving for greatness as we work together to ensure the safety and security of our clients and communities,” Mick said.

In the bustling halls of Guardforce Security (UK Division), part of the Guardforce Global Group, excitement brewed like the first signs of spring after a long winter. Amidst the hum of daily operations, there was a special buzz, for today marked the return of a familiar face to the Guardforce family.

Mr. Antony Opondo, once our steadfast security officer turned dynamic service manager, left our shores some time ago for personal pursuits overseas. His departure was a bittersweet moment, marked by gratitude for his dedicated service and best wishes for his future endeavors.

Antony first joined Guardforce in May 2009, where he began his journey with us as a security officer. His dedication and commitment to our values quickly became evident, leading to his promotion to Operations Supervisor in June 2011 and later to Senior Projects Manager in 2014. In these roles, Antony’s leadership and problem-solving skills left an indelible mark on our operations.
Sadly, Antony left the company in March 2015, pursuing new horizons and personal aspirations. However, fate has a delightful way of weaving paths back together. Today, we joyously announce the return of Antony Opondo, not just as a returning colleague, but as our esteemed Business Development Manager. With his wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and a proven track record of excellence, Antony is poised to lead our expansion efforts with renewed vigor and fresh perspectives

Now, as Antony steps into his new role as Business Development Manager, we are eager to witness the transformative impact of his strategic vision and unwavering passion for our mission. Our 24/7 control room serves as the central hub, supporting both our valued clients and our dedicated employees, act as a nerve centre of our organization, overseeing all aspects of our security operations. Our team of fully trained control room operators is always on standby to answer every call promptly, either from the clients or from the front staff, offering swift assistance through our experienced management and supervisory team.

Regular BOOK OFF & BOOK ON calls are made by all front-line and office staff, confirming that they are on the field and alert throughout their shifts.

I am Asokan Chettiar from Kerala, who came to Dubai in search of a better life. Fortunately, in 2007, I found Guardforce and started my journey as a security guard. Over the years, Guardforce has become not just my employer but also a trusted partner in securing the future of my family.

Through hard work and dedication, I progressed within Guardforce. In 2015, I obtained my Supervisor SIRA license and expanded my role to include CCTV support and supervision. Since 2007, Guardforce has entrusted me with overseeing well-known clients and supervising my colleagues at the same client sites.

I firmly believe that diligence, honesty, and integrity lead to great rewards. I am grateful to Guardforce for considering me part of their family and for trusting me to contribute to their success.
